ABOUT PETER HALMAGYI

 

Born in Hungary, he studied at the Academy of Journalism, and graduated with a degree in Photo Journalism. Worked at Budapest County Daily News, and Evening Newspaper, from 1976 to 1984.

 

He moved to Los Angeles in 1987, and started his career in the United States.

 He has 30 years of experience working with International Press and Photo Agencies - A.F.P. (French Press Agency), A.P. (Associated Press) and Reuters - and as a correspondent for political and cultural events in more than 140 countries throughout the world.

 

 

He also works as a freelance photographer with the following organizations:

His lens has captured numerous celebrities and politicians around the world and he has security clearance at the highest levels. He has photographed many of the world's most famous leaders including:

Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, Ehud Barak, Ehud Olmert and Benjamin Netanyahu

King Hussein of Jordan

2018 May Israel – Jerusalem 

US. Delegation- ACLJ photographer covering US Embassy opening in Jerusalem.

 

He has covered the last six years of IAC (Israeli-American Council National Summit)  in Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Miami. 

IAC was founded by Miri & Sheldon Adelson.

 

In 2008, he was personally invited by the King of Tonga, George Tupou V, to be the exclusive photographer at his coronation. Five Monarchies attended this unique event. The last Coronation Ceremony was 47 years before.

 

He was the Official Delegation’s photographer at the 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz - The March of The Living 2005, with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Chief Rabbi Meir Lau, Prime Minister of Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

18.000 people attended this historical commemoration of Yom Hashoah

 

Selected as the official photographer to His Majesty, King Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during his 1995 visit to California.

 

Invited by the Government of Nepal to be the sole photographer to King Birendra on the occasion of his 50th birthday celebration, at the King's palace in Kathmandu, in 1995.

 

He was working with Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and the Israeli Delegation at the time that he received the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award in 1994.

 

He was the official photographer at an event hosted by the wives of the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and of the late President Anwar Sadat of Egypt, in Los Angeles, where he captured the last pictures of party guest O.J. Simpson, just prior to his arrest on suspicion of the murder of his wife, Nicole Simpson.
