Thursday 27th January 2005 saw the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp in Poland.

 

Peter was the Official Delegation’s photographer with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Chief Rabbi Meir Lau, Prime Minister of Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

 

The Nazi regime murdered six million Jews and many others during what became known as the Holocaust. Auschwitz, the largest of the Nazi camps, where 1.1 million people died, was liberated by the advancing Soviet army on 27th January 1945.
